Advancing Carbon Capture Technology for Global Impact

At the forefront of carbon capture technology, MTR Carbon Capture (MTR) is operating the world’s largest membrane-based carbon capture plant at the Wyoming Integrated Test Center, a CCUS testing facility operating at Dry Fork Power Station in Gillette, Wyoming, under a pioneering project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

This large pilot plant, leveraging MTR’s Polaris™ polymeric membranes, is a significant advancement in carbon capture technology.

Project Insights

Situated at the Wyoming Integrated Test Center — one of the largest post-combustion demonstration-scale facilities globally — the plant captures 150 tonnes of CO2 per day at up to a 90% capture rate from flue gas emitted by the coal-fired Dry Fork Station, which uses Powder River Basin coal.

Community and Environmental Impact

Our projects emphasize community engagement through the Community Benefits Plan, ensuring local workforce involvement and aligning each project’s goals with community needs.

Every project serves as a model for responsible environmental stewardship, operating as zero liquid discharge facilities, avoiding the use of hazardous chemicals, and ensuring the sequestration of captured CO2 in a nearby Class VI well, thereby safeguarding local ecosystems.
