VP Engineering

MTR has been developing an innovative membrane-based carbon capture process for more than a decade. The demand for effective, affordable, large-scale capture solutions has never been higher. We need your help to grow our carbon capture business, and along the way, have an active role in helping to solve the climate crisis. The VP of Engineering leads the engineering group and works closely with the management team to realize MTR’s mission to be the preferred supplier of carbon capture solutions for the power and industrial sectors globally.

The VP of Engineering is responsible for the overall engineering and design package, and coordinates engineering activities for all phases of commercial projects from early assessments through engineering studies, FEEDs, construction and commissioning, and operations support. As a key member of the MTR Carbon Capture management team, you will actively participate in the company’s business strategy in conjunction with leads from Production, Operations, and Sales to meet customer needs and business goals. The VP of Engineering also collaborates closely with the Technology group in ongoing technology development and process improvement. You will provide leadership to the engineering team, including coaching, mentoring, motivating, recruiting, and training.

Job Description:
– Primary responsibility for the carbon capture engineering technical package – the capture plant.
– Ensures that engineering products meet technical specifications and are delivered on schedule and within budget.
– Builds relationships at top levels of key process equipment suppliers, engineering firms, EPC/EPCM firms, consultants, key customers, and government agencies.
– Continually improves our product offering, by exploring opportunities to reduce capital and operating costs of plant equipment by applying your know-how and collaborating with suppliers, fabricators, modular constructors, and EPCs/constructors. Explore opportunities for process intensification, compact arrangement of equipment, and ways to streamline site construction.
– Develops annual expense budgets, monitors, and approves engineering team expenses.
– Leads, recruits, coaches, mentors, guides, and trains the engineering team, and manages the teams’ performance.
– Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s in science, engineering and minimum 10 years of proven engineering leadership experience; or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience.
– Served in a leadership role for the development and construction of major capital projects (typ. $100 to $1,000M+) in one or more of MTR’s target carbon capture markets: power plants, cement and lime, steel plants, refineries, oil and gas, etc.
– Licensed Professional Engineer, a plus. Knowledge of engineering practices, codes and standards in key regions, a plus (N. America, EU, UK, Scandinavia, Asia). Mastery of standard management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– MTR Carbon Capture Engineering team.

Additional Skills and Background:
– Strong leadership and communication skills leading engineering teams in a global technical environment, ideally with a working knowledge of carbon capture and storage and/or key experience in key industries such as oil and gas, cement, and steel.
– Working knowledge of business management principles in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and facilitating of people and resources.
– Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a team environment while sometimes working in remote locations with a blended team of in-office and full-remote staff.
– Readiness to lead and establish a culture among the team that observes MTR Carbon Capture’s Business Conduct Guidelines and appropriate ethical standards.
– Strong ability to identify and communicate engineering and technical concepts clearly, concisely and in simple terms to diverse internal groups of employees, contractors, and customers with varied languages, cultures and technical abilities and across functional organizational groups; and, provide high-level customer service through effective interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.
– Advanced language skills with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Write clear processes, manuals and reports for management review and present technical information in understandable terms and respond to questions from groups of customers, employees and/or stakeholders on CCUS projects.
– Strong application of critical thinking skills along with exceptional problem solving.
– Strong multi-tasking skills, flexibility in responding to rapidly changing, dynamic processes and demands/pressures in a fast-paced environment.
– Advanced capability with Microsoft Office Suite software applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point and other enterprise software applications.
– Travel when required and work with a flexible schedule.

Salary Range:
Salary ranges for MTR positions are dependent on the level of education, number of years of relevant experience the candidate has, and what other MTR employees in similar positions with a similar skill set are earning. We estimate the range for this position to be between $255,000 and $350,900.

VP Sales and Marketing

We need your help to grow our carbon capture technology into a successful business, and along the way, have an active role in helping to solve the climate crisis.
The VP of Sales and Marketing develops and implements sales and marketing strategies for MTR Carbon Capture globally to achieve the Company’s business plan. The VP of Sales and Marketing will develop and implement the go-to market strategies and value propositions and recruit, lead and direct a team to achieve sales and profit targets. As a key member of the MTR Carbon Capture management team, actively participate in the company’s business strategy in conjunction with Technology, Production and Engineering to meet customer needs and business goals. Collaborates in the development of sales and marketing strategies and forecasts volumes for the global business and allocates resources appropriately. Develop and implement channel strategy including direct sales and partner network. Provides strong leadership to the sales and marketing team, including coaching, mentoring, motivating and training.

Role and Responsibilities:
– Primarily responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets set by the company.
– Leads marketing initiatives to meet the business goals and promote, create and maintain the Company’s competitive advantage in the market-place.
– Leads and manages the sales and marketing team members to bring value to the business and customers.
– Recruits, coaches, mentors, guides and trains the sales and marketing team and manages the teams’ sales targets.
– Collaborates with the executive management team in setting sales strategies with team members. Develops sales forecasts for the company.
– Develops annual expense budgets, monitors and approves sales team expenses.
– Studies the competitive market as it relates to sales, including pricing strategy, new product introduction and staff changes.
– Gains knowledge of organization’s products and market share and communicates metrics to the management team. Participates in new product recommendations and introductions for market share.
– Builds relationships at top levels of key accounts which benefit the organizations’ business, including OEM’s, engineering firms, consultants, key customers and governments.
– Applies consistent sales strategy throughout the world; Promotes marketing efforts for new technologies.
– Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
– Bachelor’s in science, engineering or business administration and minimum 10 years of proven sales and marketing leadership experience in a technical sales environment within the industry; or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience.
– Master in Business Administration, a plus. Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

– Regional Sales Managers and Sales Engineers in all key territories.
– Marketing Personnel.

Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for general maintenance of all facilities, manufacturing and R&D equipment. Maintain facilities in good working order, including lighting. Coordinate activities of outsourced maintenance services where needed. Perform painting, light bulb replacement, carpentry and other projects relating to maintenance of the interior property and external storage facilities. Follow safe work practices and remain current with OSHA standards for maintenance activities. Assist in the development and implementation of Safe Maintenance Practices. Assist in the development and maintenance of LOTO procedures for all existing equipment and equipment additions. Perform repairs on electrical systems ranging from 12 VDC to 480 VAC 3-phase. Maintain mechanical systems including, pneumatic, hydraulic and vacuum systems.

Requirements

High school education or GED equivalent. Minimum of three years experience working in a maintenance capacity on production manufacturing equipment. Experience using a multimeter and interpreting schematic diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems. Knowledge of safety hazards of working with electrical systems. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings. Knowledge of simple plumbing repairs including faucets and toilets. Knowledge of pump, fan and compressor mechanics sufficient to troubleshoot and make repairs.

Special Skills

Ability to troubleshoot analytical instruments and interpret PLC logic.

Salary Range
Salary ranges for MTR positions are dependent on the level of education, number of years of relevant experience the candidate has, and what other MTR employees in similar positions with a similar skill set are earning. We estimate the range for this position to be between $72,200 to $80,300.
